Greetings cherished programmers, it’s Andy Gesner and the HIP Video Promo crew once again bringing you a groundbreaking artist whose skill set you’ve likely never seen or heard before! Sean Forbes is a successful songwriter, an accomplished percussionist, and the co-founder of Deaf Professional Arts Network. Sean Forbes experiences music in a way that most of us can only imagine. Out to build a badly needed bridge between the music industry and deaf people everywhere, Sean inspires music fans and video programmers with his astounding new video clips for “Def Deaf Girls” and “Bob Dylan (Was the First Rapper).”
Forbes grew up in Detroit where his parents, both musicians, filled their home with the sounds of Motor City, including artists which inspired Sean’s passion for music such as Mitch Ryder, Bob Seger, The Funk Brothers, and more. Despite the loss of hearing as a baby, Sean Forbes soaked up the beats and vibrations, experiencing music in a whole new way. Inspired by what he calls “The Three B’s”—The Beastie Boys, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan—Sean began his musical career by making music videos in his basement; he currently produces professional video clips with a focus on the deaf and hard of hearing community. Sean Forbes is also the co-founder of D-Pan, The Deaf Professional Arts Network, a non-profit organization that focuses on translating popular artists’ songs into American Sign Language music videos for the deaf.
With a passion like no other, Sean has had a dream of music for everyone and he has transformed the way in which deaf people perceive music. Throughout his inspiring videos and his long-lived outreach to deaf people everywhere, Forbes presents music to the hearing impaired as beautiful symphonies of thought and expression. The hard of hearing community is also fascinated by his ASL translations of musical hits; since 2008, Sean Forbes has performed in over forty cities across the country, including college campuses, live venues, and popular retail stores such as Barnes and Noble. His debut LP Perfect Imperfection was released in early September of this year, and includes the tracks of these recently released video clips “Def Deaf Girls” and “Bob Dylan (Was the First Rapper).” Click HERE for the full bio on HIPVideoPromo.com!
