Premiere: The Trophy Fire "Kids" Music Video

From Diffuser.fm:
You just have to listen to The Trophy Fire once to know how talented vocalist/guitarist Ben Flanagan is. It’s no surprise he’s also a sought-after musician for other projects including Psychic Babble, a band which also features Colin Frangicetto of Circa Survive, and Dredg, where Flanagan lends his guitar skills whenever the space-rock machine goes on tour.
But let’s get back to The Trophy Fire.
Based in San Francisco, the power trio (also featuring the brother combo of drummer John and bassist Adam Schuman) released their third album, ‘Directions for Daylight,’ this past summer. The Trophy Fire’s sound is big on guitars and vocal hooks, and Diffuser.fm is psyched to bring you the exclusive video premiere for ‘Kids,’ a track from the ‘Directions for Daylight’ album.
“The video represents losing ourselves in our youth. In the video you see a bunch of adults playing a game; a sort of dodgeball/capture the flag game with colored powder,” says Flanagan of the Paul Aspuria directed video. “We wanted to show the recklessness many of us once had. It’s a recklessness a lot of us yearn for but can be so hard to obtain in our adulthood.”
‘Directions for Daylight’ is out now on Greyday Records and available on iTunes.

Watch: KNTRLR "Stabs" Music Video

KNTRLR recently premiered another hard-hitting single called "Stabs" and
we encourage you to check it out.

According to the band, the song “was written after we saw a guy get stabbed outside our practice space” and “set the tone” for the general mood of the track. The video uses archived footage from NASA, the ESA, and the National Archives creating sort of a post apocalyptic montage sequence. It was shot by Amanda Blohm and edited by KNTRLR themselves.

SOLARDRIVE releases most cinematic music video to date for poignant new single, "Monster"

Distinguished actor/director turned musician, Balthazar Getty is without question one of the most passionate and dedicated artists working today.

Perhaps most well-known for his performances in cult classics, Lord Of The Flies, Natural Born Killers and Lost Highway, in recent years Getty began zeroing in on the musical side of his artistic ability, and for good reason. In 2012, finding himself with a burning desire for a platform that would allow him to genuinely express who he is as an artist and an individual, he decided it was time to create something new and deeply personal: his first solo music project.

After obtaining the set-up he needed to make it happen (courtesy of his wife, as well as his close friend, actor Joaquin Phoenix), it was on. After three weeks of pouring his heart and soul into the new project, SOLARDRIVE was born. A mesmerizing and hard-hitting combination of electronic, soul and hip-hop influences, he had developed a sound that’s undeniably all his own. He quickly dropped his self-titled debut album, via his own label, Purplehaus Records, and it was extremely well-received. After releasing captivating clips for his exceptionally catchy singles, “Be Alright,” “No Drama” & “Lovely” earlier this year, SOLARDRIVE is back with his most striking video to date, for the poignant new single, “Monster.”

A spellbinding mixture of artists like Little Dragon, Moby and J Dilla, “Monster” is a surprisingly delicate yet incredibly powerful song about love and the hardship it can bring. The wonderfully down-tempo song is made up of warm and highly-effecting piano samples, soulful organ, a perfectly scratchy Portishead-esque drum beat that sound like its being broadcast straight off a vinyl record, and features gorgeous and heartfelt vocals by singer, Rain Phoenix (Joaquin’s sister). “Love is a monster” is the primary hook throughout, and you can’t help but relate to what she’s singing. The song comes off so incredibly genuine that it can literally move listeners to tears with its heavy-hearted vibe, but you won’t want it to end. Click here for the full bio.

Introducing Neil Nathan Inc.

From the artist who brought you the videos for “California Run” “When The Rain Falls” and “Do Ya,” comes a new video inspired by the revolutionary spirit in the graphic novel and film, V for Vendetta. Coinciding with Britain’s Guy Fawkes Day and the US Government Shutdown, Neil Nathan injects a little dark humor into his newest video. HIP Video Promo is pleased to introduce “Evey.”

“Evey” is a jaw-droppin computer animated video that is visually catchy as the song itself. In it, Nathan explores V for Vendetta’s main protagonist V’s conflicted heartbreak at having to die for the sake of the revolution and say goodbye to exploring a love he has never felt before with Evey Hammond. The video also explores the romantic lure of V’s transformative influence on the song’s evolution from innocent to world-weary revolutionary. Although the message is deep and serious, the song itself is classic Neil Nathan, with a undeniable nack for writing retro pop rock riffs and hooks and melodies that would make any Brit rock advocate take notice. Like the song, the video itself may feel dark, but is teeming with life. It is primarily a black and white presentation that is intermittently saturated with vibrant colors that leap off the screen! Click here for the full bio.

Introducing The J Band

The J Band was formed by front man Jordan “J” Lindsey who describes his music as, “the music Bob Marley and Bob Dylan would make after taking tequila shots together.” So sit back and enjoy the ride as we introduce their fun-filled music video clip for an uproariously exciting single, “Coconut Mornings.” Click here for the full bio.

Introducing Tripnotic

Macedonia native, Tripnotic, aka Emil Hadji Panzov, is the new face of quality EDM in 2013. The remarkably talented composer, producer, re-mixer, radio/club DJ, label owner, music journalist and promoter, has electronic music flowing through his veins 24/7, and because he’s wholeheartedly determined to delivering the goods to the people, EDM fans are quite lucky to have him working passionately for their cause. He recently dropped his latest music video for the adrenaline-inducing new single, “Tricky Three,” and we think you’ll agree, it’s quite a ride. Click here for the full bio.

Introducing Colette Kavanagh

With a multitude of musical influences such as Roy Orbison, The Carpenters, Julie London, and Nora Jones, Colette Kavanagh is making an impressive name for herself within the contemporary scene of the music industry. Catchy lyrics and emotional highs are what make her latest single “Someday” a true gem of a song and HIP Video Promo is pleased to introduce this artist on the rise. Click here for the full bio.

Introducing Tray Bien

Tray “Tray Bien” Okoth is a Kenyan-American hip-hop artist, poet and author. Originally from Nairobi, Kenya, Tray grew up as the youngest of three children to parents Simon and Elizabeth Okoth. In 2003, Tray and his family made the 7,500-mile move from Nairobi to Richmond, VA, where he quickly made a name for himself in the local scene. HIP Video Promo is pleased to introduce this multi-talented artist’s new music video for “So It Begins.”

In the summer of 2010, a prestigious offer was presented to Tray to play basketball in Europe, but due to problems in obtaining travel documents, he was forced to cancel his travel plans and remain in the states. Though devastated by the situation, Tray refused to let this setback define the direction of his life. He decided to embrace it as an opportunity for him to return home and pursue another passion of his, making music. Music had always played a prominent role in Tray’s life. While growing up in Kenya, he gravitated towards the soulful styles of artists like Billy Holliday and Nina Simone, in addition to drawing inspiration from many unique regional acts in the area. Ayub Ogada, a traditional Kenyan singer, and Bamboo, a Kenyan rapper, were both major contributors to his personal music style. Click here for the full bio.

Watch: Passerby "www,iig"

Inspiration can come from some of the most peculiar places. The key is not necessarily being able to convert that inspiration into art, but rather being able to identify those moments when they happen. For Mike Vecchio, and his performance alter-ego Passerby, that moment came on the city streets that could have been like any other. Or rather, it happened underneath the city streets. A wheelchair-bound artist named Joseph was selling his original artwork and Vecchio quickly became a fan and began to amass his own collection.
The song for “www, jig” began as a basic drum beat and synth bass and it was when he added the oboe and mellotron that things really clicked. In his own words Vecchio says that the song instantly took on the musical theme of “an old UFO sci-fi movie from the 50′s” and it was at that moment that he connected that sound with the childlike innocence of Joseph’s drawings about UFO’s and alien themes. With hints of everything from Deefhoof to Magentic Fields to of Montreal, the song itself is the perfect blend of quirk and pop that it creates the perfect soundtrack to what a pop/alien invasion might sound like. The video premiered on BrooklynVegan.com.

Introducing Briannagh Dennehy

Briannagh Dennehy loves to perform. It’s been a defining part of who she is since the age of five, and what she has managed to accomplish in her mere 12 years is more than most artists can pull together in a lifetime. Whether it be church youth choir, dancing and acting in school plays, playing violin in talent shows, or performing in Broadway musical compositions, she can do it all. And she can do it with a fresh, youthful all-American look that has landed her roles in adverts for Splendid Clothing, Forman Mills, and web and print ads for a major health care agency.

Of course there are many young performers out there who may claim to have similar accomplishments but it’s not likely that they’ve put the same amount of time and effort into developing their talents as Briannagh. She’s worked with professional vocal coaches, piano teachers, and musical theaters vets and appeared onstage at some of the NY/NJ area’s most notable venues such as the Apollo Theatre and Carnegie Hall in NYC, McCarter Theatre in Princeton, and more. But don’t let all of these accomplishments lead you to believe that she is some overly serious, sullen child performer. She is a young, sprite, and ebullient kid that absolutely loves what she does and nowhere is this more apparent than in her new single and video for “American Fab Kid.”

The song is an upbeat and infectious declaration of her love of all things fab. She’s surrounded by a red, white, and blue motif, and also by her friends (who get a great shout out in the song) where they show off their dancing skills in tandem with the music and keep us engaged. A self-declared fasionista queen, Briannagh knows how to look as slick as she sounds.

Introducing Assia Ahhatt

Assia Ahhatt’s career and background is much different than your average pop singer. There’s no small American town with the kid growing up as a local celebrity and then moving to LA, NYC, or Chicago to pursue bigger aspirations of pop stardom. Instead, Assia’s foray into dance-pop came after she had deeply entrenched herself as a violinist in the world of classical music, which she used as a basis to create her unique mix of electronic pop and electric violin.

Born in Ukraine, she grew up tirelessly pursuing her goals of becoming one of the premiere violinists in Europe. After graduating from The National Music Academy, she studied at The Music Academy in Nice, France. As the soloist of The Ukrainian National Philharmonic and the first violin of the string quartet Capris Plus, she performed at many famous European concert halls.

She soon released her first album titled Homo Novus and it was full speed ahead from there! She’s been steadily growing her fan base and reach, performing at festivals alongside artists such as Andreas Vollenweider, Robert Plant, Sting, Depeche Mode, and more! For her newest single “If Only Tonight” she has crafted what might be her finest work yet, a contemporary explosion of emotions and rhythms.

For the accompanying music video, Assia has teamed up with some old friends, both from the pop world an the classic arts world, to create what can only be described as a wild roller coaster of a ride through extravagant sites and sounds. She brought in Igor Ivanov to direct, having previously worked together, and also enlisted Nazar Didyk, a good friend and ballet choreographer to design a few absolutely unexpected looks for Assia. The video is set in a cylindrical hallway with pulsating lights, a leather clad percussion ensemble, in-sync dancers, and most importantly, Assia herself at the helm.

Introducing: Shayna Leigh

Even with its burgeoning community of performers and artists, even a city like Orlando can seem like a small town when you have big dreams. For an artist like Shayna Leigh, even though it was home, it was only a stop on her musical journey. So after high school she packed her belongings and headed to the only place that could accommodate that goal…. New York City. Upon her arrival and while working through college she worked some unrewarding jobs in retail, until deciding it was time to take her career into her own hands.

Inspired by the Broadway and Cabaret divas that came before her – Bette Midler, Audra McDonald, and Linda Eder – and raised on the likes of The Beatles, B52′s, Carole King, Beyonce, Queen and Carly Simon, Shayna finds inspiration from all corners of the music world. What’s most important has always been the talent these artists possess, whether it be natural or through tireless hard work. Once taking things into her own hands she began writing and recording original material, and the results have been nothing short of stunning. Her new full length album, Tenderness, is a soothing blend of piano-driven ballads and soul-infused pop numbers that instantly connects with listeners by channeling artists like Natalie Merchant, Adele, and Sarah McLachlan. Songwriter Monthly calls her “a one in a million original” and Aquarian Weekly has called her live show “a triumph.” Amongst all of the stellar songs the standout track amongst them all is the sultry and heart-tugger “Map of My Heart.”Click here for the full bio!

Malea releases new music video for "Rainbow Girl" (Remix)

HIP Video Promo’s premier artist Malea’s music is unique and quite down-to-earth. With inspiring lyrics and impeccable vocal melodies, listeners cannot help but become enthralled with her beckoning demeanor and noteworthy style.

While her previous single “Running in the Desert” had an organic rock and roll vibe, the original version of “Rainbow Girl” from the Prism album has a pop-laden electronic beat behind it and oozes a catchy melody, invoking a vibe not unlike Madonna’s “Like A Prayer.” The common thread is Malea’s soothing and powerful vocal delivery. When she teamed up with the Papercha$er collective to produce a remix for “Rainbow Girl” they approached with the same mission statement that Papercha$er puts on all of their work; “to make people dance while creating the highest quality dance music possible.” Mission accomplished! The song retains all of the fluid vocal delivery and melodies that make the original so desirable but they’ve upped the dance factor to a considerable degree. The low end thumps and the high end paints an energetic cornucopia that pushes this already outstanding song into the stratosphere.

It’s only appropriate that the video for “Rainbow Girl” possesses a cosmic look to it. “Running in the Desert” proved that Malea was capable of delivering top notch visuals, and “Rainbow Girl” takes that proclamation and takes it to another level. With a regular visual of both rainbows and prisms, the video seamlessly glides through a digital galaxy of stars, planets, and everything in between. It does come back to earth at times to treat us to scenes of silhouettes dancing, large crowds losing themselves in the music, and waves that pulse to the beat of the music. While “Running in the Desert” was focused on a solo element, “Rainbow Girl” is a far reaching treat that takes everything we know about Malea and super sizes it for a presentation that is easily the brightest and most colorful video you will encounter this year.
