Flip the page to the designated spot and off you go! For her new video “Ran For My Life,” Toronto’s Guinevere took this to the next level and has actually created a music video where you the viewer get to choose how you dispose of zombies on the attack!

yell for help "Love Will Keep Us Together" Music Video Premiere on ArtistDirect.com!
L.A.’s yell for help has a simple bio that speaks volumes about the group. It says “Born on the same day on opposite ends of the country, Mike Pappas and Fann are yell for help, an American alternative/pop duo with industrial and ambient influences. They were introduced by a mutual friend in the summer of 2012 and have hated each other ever since.”
Yell for help mixes alternative, pop, industrial, and ambient vibes with no difficulty whatsoever.
Love Will Keep Us Together is anchored by a Pretty Hate Machine-esque backbeat and breakdown main riff while both Mike and Fann trade vocals duties on top of it, which carries into the scaled back chorus proclaiming that “love will keep us together.” It’s an infectious ride of musical peaks and valleys from front to end, showcasing their individual and collaborative talents.
For the corresponding video they’ve pulled out all of the stops to make something on par with their musical aesthetic. Shot in a traditional 4×3 aspect ratio, the clip focuses heavily on Mike and Fann performing in front of the camera in a variety of settings, sporting an industrial look with a hint of thriller movie scenes. Think the movie Brazil with technology gone awry and the music grabbing and transporting the listener to a state of bliss. Dark rooms and bright lights contribute to the dichotomy of this organic pile of discarded technology that is being used to rope in the listener.

Introducing... Guinevere
For many of us reading this we are familiar with the phrase “choose your own adventure.” You follow the story and then you reach a certain point when you are able to choose whether you go down the stairs or climb the fire escape, or something of that nature. Flip the page to the designated spot and off you go! For her new video “Ran For My Life,” Toronto’s Guinevere took this to the next level and has actually created a music video where you the viewer get to choose how you dispose of zombies on the attack!
This isn’t likely a surprise to those who have followed Guinevere, a dark pop diva with the soul of an admitted Star Trek fan and gaming geek, and also named after the legendary Lady of the Round Table. She also plays hockey and counts some of the NHL’s best as her biggest fans of her music. For her, action and adventure is in her blood! No surprise that as a performer she possesses a unique ability to take the stage and make it her own, transforming from the self-described “shy, polite” girl next door into a larger-than-life pop icon. She released her debut solo album on her own Nuke Town Records (a nod to Call of Duty, naturally) and eventually caught the eye of an array of industry professionals who have guided her to the coveted roster of Tommy Boy Entertainment.
2013 is proving to be a huge success for Guinevere, having hit top 10 on Billboard’s Dance Charts and is currently climbing the Top 40 charts with no signs of abatement with her single ‘Fly Away’, produced by Cirkut. Guinevere’s rendition of “Missed Calls” by hip-hop’s newest star Mac Miller, illustrates Guinevere’s depth as an artist. She’s also toured with Nick Carter across the east coast of America, played Miami’s Winter Music Festival, toured Europe, and played over 200 shows across all of the US this past year.
When it came time to make a music video for new single “Ran For My Life” Guinevere channeled her inner gamer and hatched the idea of the interactive music video. The video is set with Guinevere trapped in a house swarming with zombies and her only chance to escape is to fight her way out. Click here for Guinevere's artist page on HIP Video Promo.

Passerby "www, iig" Music Video Premiere on Village Voice!
Passerby is already gaining some serious attention for his stunning new video for "www, iig!" Today it premiered on the almighty Village Voice. Check out what they have to say about it:
"Though the video has a DIY, punk aesthetic with its collage of pop culture references fluidly moving throughout, everything about New York City'sPasserby's sound, especially on the song "www, iig," is clean. With their Brit pop sensibilities, Passerby keep it simple and sweet while their video is a flurry of constantly moving parts inspired by artist Matt Newman's work on the documentary I Need That Record. Watch: Max Lisa “Fly Away”
Italy’s newest sensation to reach our shores, Max Lisa, combines a multitude of elements revolving around the pop genre, surely making him a rising star. HIP Video Promo is pleased to introduce his sensational music video clip for the single “Fly Away.”
Earlier this year, Max Lisa presented the world with his imminent EP, Fly Away, containing five tracks: “Fly Away,” “One Way Train,” “Mama,” “Demons from Hell” and “Christine.” It has been released on August 14 on all major digital stores including iTunes and Amazon. Emmy nominated engineer Robert L. Smith, who has worked with artists such as Lady Gaga, Aerosmith, and David Bowie, teamed up with Max Lisa to produce one of this year’s noteworthy EPs.
Max Lisa is currently working on radio and television promotions throughout the US, Europe, and Germany. The single “Demons from Hell” from his previous EP charted number nine in USA National Airplay’s Top 50 Rock Chart, and his full-length album is set for released in January 2014 on ABA Records. In the meantime, Max Lisa has left us with the impeccable music video for “Fly Away.”
The video clip captures Max Lisa in his finest form—filled with portrayals of love and struggle, scenes from “Fly Away” show the capabilities of this multi-faceted artist. It’s dramatic at all turns, and the cinematography is stunning. Shots of Max behind bars appear regularly, and as the action plays out, these star-crossed lovers are on a collision course with that fate and the heart pumping ride plays out like a true work of art. The tune has comparisons to some of Max Lisa’s influences such as Dire Straits, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and The Eagles. Captivating us is his raspy and touching vocals, which make for an incredible song.

Polyvinyl Records Drops Four New Music Videos You Need To See
By now you may think that we have told you everything there is to say about Kevin Barnes and his constantly evolving musical entity, of Montreal. With over a dozen releases to their name in the past 15 years and 11 videos that have come your way, we’ve been championing Polyvinyl Records’ flagship band tirelessly over the years. But if there is one thing we’ve learned from of Montreal is that nothing is ever constant and just when you think you might have them figured out, they reinvent themselves again and add a new dimension to their already eclectic sound.
For the new video “Fugitive Air” Kevin Barnes turned to the director he knows would best capture of Montreal’s intimate and stripped down side; his wife Nina Barnes. She’s no stranger to the director’s chair either, having been behind the lens for their previous videos “L’age D’or” and “Famine Affair.” The video is a kaleidoscope of vivid colors, home movies and psychedelic scenes with Summer of Love styled dancing and carefree approach to life. Perhaps nothing ties the personal touch of the album and the vibe together more than Kevin and Nina’s clear love and adoration for each other, whether it be sharing a tiny bathtub or playfully running around the bedroom.
Whether it be Generationals, Deerhoof, Japandroids, or Wampire, the Polyvinyl Record Co. has an unparalleled knack for finding the cream of the crop of indie rock duos. The next artist on that list that is creating a massive buzz is San Francisco’s The Dodos. What began as a solo project for Meric Long under the moniker Dodo Bird was soon pluralized with the addition of Logan Kroeber. They first gained notoriety with their release Visiter. Over the years they’ve made fans out of fellow artists like Neko Case and Les Savy Fav (who invited them to perform at their ATP Nightmare Before Christmas Festival in 2011.) Eventually they caught the eye of Polyvinyl and together released the new album, Carrier.
For the new video “Confidence,” the band revisited their past video for “Companions,” which followed the band’s close friend Bo as the lead actor who rules the camera, completely in control of the entire situation. Being “one of the funniest dudes we know,” the band jumped at the opportunity to get him back in front of the camera. Only this time, the tables are turned and he is no longer in control. He’s chased relentlessly by an unwavering officer of the law. Playing into the theme of duality, the song itself has two distinct parts. It begins as a mid-tempo head bopper, until the video up the pace and becomes a frantic chase through city streets and onto an oceanfront beach. And the band has already promised that the cliffhanger ending leaves room for a third installment, so keep your eyes peeled!

Watch: SOLARDRIVE "Lovely"
Over the summer, we brought you two stellar videos from SOLARDRIVE, the musical identity of actor Balthazar Getty. Both “Be Alright” and “No Drama” offered a glimpse into his unique and unconventional musical approach. Fans and video programmers agreed, the highlight being “Be Alright” winning the mtvU Freshmen voting competition and being put in rotation on the channel. Keeping on that upward trajectory, we are very excited to bring you the next video in the series of top notch DIY films, the aptly titled “Lovely.”
In his 25 plus years of making music and establishing himself as one of the world’s finest actors, Balthazar Getty just simply gets it. He knows what looks good and what sounds good. So it shouldn’t be any surprise that the self-titled SOLARDRIVE LP was a completely self-produced venture that was the product of a manic three weeks in which holed up in his pool house-cum-home studio. “It was one of those things,” he says, still seemingly dumbfounded that an album was the end-result of an almost obsessive, self-taught three-week crash course in new-age production. “I just sat there for a week and taught myself by trial and error. And I ended up making what I thought is a very interesting progressive album.” It always helps to have a slew of talented musician friends around, but when it’s all said and done, SOLARDRIVE is an album that captures a unique moment in time in the life of Balthazar Getty.
Like we said earlier, he’s an artist that just gets it, and keeping with the DIY vibe of the album Balthazar offers up another candid video that captures a unique moment in time. “Lovely” sees Getty once again teaming up with director Severin Winzenberg. The video focuses on a leisurely stroll around a Europen city with his daughter Violet. The paternal bond is touching and it’s clear that beyond being a public figure, Balthazar is also a dedicated and loving father. It’s all so natural and at ease, what better way to bring a song called “Lovely” to life?

RollingStone.com reported on it today:
The nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Class of 2014 are in, and the list includes Nirvana, Kiss, the Replacements and Hall and Oates. The rest of this year's hopefuls are the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic, Deep Purple, Peter Gabriel, LL Cool J, N.W.A, Link Wray, the Meters, Linda Ronstadt, Cat Stevens, Yes and the Zombies. The top vote-getters will be inducted in April at a ceremony in New York City.
For the second consecutive year, the public gets to vote alongside the artists, historians and music industry insiders of the Rock Hall voting body. From now until December 10th, fans can vote on RollingStone.com for the nominees they'd like to see inducted. The top five acts will comprise a "fan's ballot" that will count as one of the more than 600 ballots that determine the Class of 2014.
In order to be eligible for this year's ballot, artists or bands need to have released their first single or album in 1988 or earlier. Many of the nominees have appeared on previous ballots, but this is the first appearance for Nirvana, Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, the Replacements, Linda Ronstadt, Link Wray, Cat Stevens, Yes and the Zombies. (Gabriel was inducted as a member of Genesis in 2009.)
